For my portrait work I decided to go for a smart theme which is why all the people in the 3 pictures are in suit and tie.
I got the inspiration of having a smart theme to the photos from looking at Robert Mapplethrone’s selfie picture. I also liked how the picture is black and white as it gave a more serious feel combining the two.
At first I didn’t know how to approach this task as I wasn’t sure what exactly reminded me of home but after going home over the easter break I looked around me bedroom and noticed little things that whenever I see them I think of home. For the home brief I chose to use items that not only remind me of home but some things that I also have in my bedroom. For example the football reminds me of home because I have a season ticket at Arsenal FC and every time I go home I go and watch them play. The train tickets remind me of home because when I go home from university I have to get a train home and always get at least 3 tickets.
For inspiration for the picture I looked at rennieatomeier, a user on imgur who took pictures of his trainers. This gave me the idea to take a picture of my trainers and the nike shoe boxes.
